Pointe Medical Services is a physician practice that incorporates many patient services under one roof. It is the mission of Pointe Medical Services to provide our clients with the best comprehensive medical care available, including a variety of in-house services along with efforts to educate and enhance preventive medical care.
The primary concept in the delivery of healthcare at Pointe Medical Services is comprehensive. It is the objective of the Pointe Medical Staff to diagnose and treat, at one location, the wide variety of health problems that develop as we age or we acquire through injury or illness. For this reason, Dr. Bernard has designed an environment with a wide variety of specialists in the healthcare field to achieve this goal.

Gary C. Bernard, MD
Dr. Bernard was born and raised in Syracuse, N.Y. He graduated From Meharry Medical College in 1992 with a Doctorate degree in Medicine. He continued his medical education at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y. where he studied family practice. From there, he began his study of Internal Medicine at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital. Afterwards, Dr. Bernard moved to Jacksonville in order to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. Dr. Bernard has been in the private practice of Family & Internal Medicine since 1999.
Dr. Bernard believes in treating every aspect of an individual’s health, from physical ills, diet, injuries, acquired disease states, to general well-being. The concept that a healthy body and healthy mind create a truly healthy individual is key to his practice of medicine. Therefore, Dr. Bernard and Pointe Medical Services attempt to accomplish as much as possible in treating an individual’s illness at one location in a relaxed and efficient environment. Of course, some illnesses require the use of specialists, and Pointe Medical Services can arrange for our patients to see the most qualified specialists available.
Leiah Walrod, MD
Leiah Walrod, M.D. was raised locally in Green Cove Springs, Florida. She is extremely happy to be practicing in the area of her hometown. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1996, she pursued her medical doctorate at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She then received her training in Family Medicine at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In the following four years, Dr. Walrod served in the United States Navy as a primary care physician. She worked at a very busy primary care clinic in Great Lakes, Illinois.
At the completion of her military service, Dr. Walrod began taking an interest in aesthetic medicine. She attended extensive training in the administration of Botox Cosmetics, Dermal Fillers and Chemical Peels. Leiah applied this training in cosmetics while working for a Medical Spa near the Chicago area. During the years that she worked in the Medical Spa setting, she found extreme enjoyment in helping people to feel their best by looking their best. While feeling the pleasure of helping her clients look great outwardly, she began to realize that there must be a way to help her clients feel just as well inwardly. It was during those years of practicing Aesthetic Medicine that she started down the path of Anti-Aging Medicine and Natural Hormone Replenishment. Through research and ‘word of mouth’ Leiah learned of Pointe Medical Services, Live Well MD, and the successful work of Dr. Gary Bernard in this growing field of medicine.
Dr. Walrod is extremely happy to be able to provide treatments in the form of Natural Hormone Replacement, Anti-Aging Medicine, and Cosmetic Services in the primary care setting. Leiah looks forward to helping you feel your best on the inside and out. Leiah is indeed a very able, experienced, and valuable addition to Pointe Medical Services, Inc.
